The Pledge: Creating a Culture of Innovation
We are committed to fostering, creating, and preserving a culture of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).
The collective sum of the individual differences, life experiences, knowledge, innovation, self-expression, unique capabilities, and talent in every employee represents a significant part of not only DMT culture, but also our reputation and achievements as well. DMT celebrates a diverse workforce because a diverse workforce leads to empowered teams, innovation, effective communication, and problem solving.
What is DEIB?
DMT defines Diversity as embracing and encouraging differences across a wide spectrum including age, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status, and other characteristics that make our employees unique. Equity as when all people have equal access to the same resources to reach potentially the same outcomes. Inclusion goes beyond inviting participation; it acknowledges power differences, real or perceived, and deliberately provides resources and efforts to include all members of a group regardless of a person’s status within that group. Belonging is the feeling of being part of something and mattering to others. We create it through inclusion, which consists of intentional acts.
What the DEIB Committee works on
Moreover, DMT is dedicated to removing obstacles that prevent a person from being able to fully participate in the work. Internal structures and systems are regularly reviewed by the committee with leadership to ensure equitable access across the organization.
In addition, DMT strongly believes that these efforts should not be limited to its own company. Therefore, DMT is dedicated to promoting this approach both within our industry as well as our community. DMT encourages its employees to support and participate in local projects and initiatives that raise the awareness for DEIB topics and are working on overcoming those. Examples for DMT’s support of the local community are the Donation Match Program and the Dollar for Doers Program.
The Goal: to Change the Industry
DMT strives to be a front runner in the further development of our society. We encourage our clients and suppliers to join us on this voyage towards a better future. Raising awareness for DEIB topics and working on overcoming those must not stop on a local, regional, or national level. Looking at the origin of material resources, at supply chains, or at the deposition and recycling of our production after their life cycle shows the importance of expanding our culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging along the whole life cycle of our business, and our industry.
